SUPPORT OF THE COMMUNITY AND BUSINESSES

Because the local businesses support the Salmon Festival it is our policy to purchase goods or services locally and if possible, from a sponsor.  This year we purchased $61,848.94 worth of goods and services from local businesses.

Where possible the Festival hires or makes donation to community groups or individuals to assist us in delivering our programs.  These donations to community groups provide them with much needed funds to carry out their charitable programs. in 2009  we paid or donated $27,128.17 to the following for those services.

Search & Rescue

Mountainaire Avian Rescue

Timberline Football Team

Old Timers Hockey

Local Entertainers

Local Workers

Kids Rides

Face painters

Rotary Club

The Festival not only provides financial assistance to community groups, but it is our policy to provide our assets free and assist with the delivery and set-up of those items.  This year the Salmon Festival assisted 32 community organizations through the use of our assets.  Each time we assist a community group they save rental, building or storage costs, allowing more funds to go toward their charitable endeavor.  The value of this support for 2009 was $21,815.00.
