WE AGREE TO COMPLY WITH THE RULES AND REGULATIONS PRESCRIBED BY THE PARADE & AGREE TO HOLD SAFE AND ABSOLVE THE CAMPBELL RIVER ROTARY CLUB AND THE CAMPBELL RIVER SALMON FESTIVAL SOCIETY, CANADA DAY COMMITTEE AND CITY OF CAMPBELL RIVER FROM ANY LOSS OR DAMAGE TO PERSONS OR PROPERTY ARISING OUT OF TRAVELING TO, PARTICIPATION IN AND TRAVELING FROM, THE ANNUAL PARADE THAT IS THE RESULT OF THE ENTRY PARTICIPANTS OR EQUIPMENT.

2010 CANADA DAY PARADE

 

RULES AND REGULATIONS 

1)   APPLICATION CLOSING DATE:  ------- JUNE 23

 2)      PARADE DATE: ------------------------------ JULY 1

 3)   MARSHALLING AREA:  16th AVENUE AND SHOPPERS ROW

4)  PARADE TIMES:              2:00  PM        FLOATS TO BE IN POSITION

                                    3:00 PM        MARCHING UNITS IN POSITION

4:00 PM        PARADE STARTS (times subject to change)   

5)  FLOATS: 

a)    Floats should be 50% decorated.   Parade Marshal's reserve the right to refuse any entry  not suitably decorated.

b)   Floats must be equipped with an approved FIRE EXTINGUISHER.

c)   NO FIRES  of any kind on floats.

d)   Drivers must remain with floats.    

6)   CARS, VANS, BIKES,  ETC.

All units should be 50% decorated except those carrying ROYALTY, GOVERNMENT OFFICIALS and VINTAGE VEHICLES. 

7)   ANIMALS ENTRIES:

Necessary clean up equipment MUST accompany each entry. 

8)    SAFETY REGULATIONS:

a)    The Parade Marshall reserve the right to refuse entry to any unit they consider a hazard to the safety of the parade.

b)   Units must be designed so driver can exit quickly in the event of an emergency.

c)   WALKING PERSONNEL TO BE PROVIDED BY ENTRANT TO ENSURE CROWD

      DOES NOT ENCROACH ON THEIR PARADE ENTRY

d)    NOTHING TO BE THROWN FROM THE PARADE UNITS. CANDIES, ETC. MAY BE

                 PASSED OUT BY WALKING PERSONNEL ONLY.

 

9)     GENERAL REGULATIONS:

a)  No soliciting of money is permitted by entrants during the parade.

b)  Position in the parade will be allotted by the PARADE MARSHALL.

  

10 )   LIABILITY WAIVER        

Entries and sponsors of entries will hold safe and absolve the Campbell River Rotary, Salmon Festival Society, Canada Day

Committee, Parade Marshall, Volunteers and City of Campbell River from responsibility for personal injury or property damage

arising from accidents incurred going to, during or dispersing from the parade that is the fault of the entry.

 JUDGING CRITERIA

Decoration, Theme, Participation, Spirit (Music).

PARADE ROUTE 

Parade assembly is the paved parking lot and gravel lot at the corner of 16th Ave. and Shoppers Row

Parade route is along Shoppers Row and Island Highway to Discovery Pier and Marine Heritage Museum entrance

Entries may disperse on highway 19A or return to assembly area via 6th and 8th Avenues to Thulin or Alder Streets.

From Alder Cedar, Island Highway and Shoppers Row lead back to the Assembly area.
